Blackberry Barbeque Sauce

Ingredients
- Sauce:
- 1 can OregoN Blackberries in light syrup, drained*
- ¼ cup ketchup
- ¼ cup honey
- ¼ cup minced fresh ginger
- 2 tablespoons firmly packed brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1-2 teaspoons hot sauce to taste
Instructions
Combine all ingredients except hot sauce in a food processor or blender. Whirl until berries are pureed. Add hot sauce to taste. Pour into a 1-quart glass measure. Cover loosely with microwave-safe plastic wrap leaving vents for steam. Cook in a microwave oven at full power stirring occasionally until mixture is reduced to 1 1/3 cups, about 8 minutes.
4 pounds baby back pork spare ribs
Salt and pepper to taste
Barbecue over indirect heat (medium hot) for 45-50 minutes, turning often until well browned. Baste one side of ribs with about 1/3 of the sauce. Turn ribs sauce side down and cook until sauce browns and forms a sticky glaze, about 10 minutes. Baste top of the ribs with 1/3 of the sauce, turn over and cook about 10 minutes longer.
*Syrup can be used for other purposes
