Frosted Gooseberry Salad

Ingredients

Salad:
1 cup sugar
1 can OregoN Gooseberries
1 small package lemon Jell-O
1 small package lime Jell-O
2 cups boiling water
1 cup diced celery
1 cup grated cheddar cheese
1 cup chopped nuts
Frosting:
1 package Dream Whip
1/4 cup mayonnaise
1/2 cup grated cheddar cheese

Instructions

Combine sugar and gooseberries and let sit for 1 hour. Dissolve Jell-O in boiling water, and then add the gooseberries, celery, cheese and chopped nuts. Pour into a 9X9-inch square pan or a 1 1/2 quart mold. Refrigerate until firm. If using mold, unmold and frost with the frosting. For 9x9-inch pan, spread top with frosting. Refrigerate.

Frosting:
Prepare Dream Whip per box directions. Fold in mayonnaise. Sprinkle grated cheese over frosting.
