Plum Cobbler

Ingredients

1 can Oregon Purple Plums, (pitted and chopped), reserve syrup
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 cup butter or shortening
1 egg
1 1/2 cup flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup milk

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Place pitted, chopped plums, with the syrup, in bottom of a 9 inch square pan.

Cream together sugar and butter. Add egg. Combine dry ingredients and slowly add to mixture alternating with the milk. Spoon the mixture over the top and bake for 35 minutes or until lightly browned.
