Flaming Cherries Jubilee – Classic Recipe

Ingredients

a plate with warm, gooey red cherries jubilee over a scoop of vanilla ice cream

Instructions

  1. Add water to reserved syrup to equal 2 cups.
  2. In chafing dish, combine reserved syrup mixture, sugar and cornstarch. Stir in lemon juice and peels. Cook and stir until thickened.
  3. Stir in cherries. Stir in brandy and heat until warm; carefully ignite. Spoon cherries and sauce over individual servings of ice cream.
  4. Makes 8 to 10 servings.
