Plum Chutney


  • 1 can Oregon Fruit Products Whole Purple Plums, drained and pitted:
  • 1 tbsp Olive Oil
  • ½ Sweet Onion, diced
  • 1 Large Shallot, sliced lengthwise
  • 1 tbsp Garlic, chopped
  • 2 tsp Ginger, grated peeled
  • 1/4 cup Sherry Vinegar or Apple Cider Vinegar
  • 1/2 cup (packed) Light Brown Sugar
  • Kosher Salt, pinch
  • 1/2 tsp Freshly Ground Black Pepper
  • 1 Bay Leaf


  1. Drain, halve and pit Plums
  2. Cut Plums into fourths and set aside
  3. In skillet, over medium temperature heat olive oil. Add onions, and shallot cook until softened. Then add garlic and ginger, continue to cook until caramelized 10-15 minutes.
  4. Add Plums, Apple Cider Vinegar, brown sugar, salt, pepper, and bay leaf.
  5. Simmer on low for 10 minutes.
