1 can Oregon Fruit Dark Sweet Cherries - drained
2 cups softened unsalted butter
1 cup white sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Pinch of salt
4 cups all-purpose flour
2 cup powdered sugar
1 ½ - 2 tablespoons milk
- Preheat oven to 375F.
- Cream together butter, sugar, and vanilla. Mix in the flour and salt until combine. Dough will look crumbly.
- Roll dough into round balls and place on a parchment-lined cookie sheet. Make thumbprints in each dough ball and fill with one dark sweet cherry.
- Bake for 11-14 mins until edges start to get lightly brown and cookie sets up. Allow to cool on cookie sheet for at least 15 minutes.
- Mix powdered sugar with milk to make a thick glaze. Place in corner of zipper bag and clip corner to pipe. Pipe perpendicular lines across cookie to decorate.
Makes: 25-35 cookies
